Memories were shared last night as Kobe Bryant’s jersey retirement began at Staples Center. Kobe Bryant is a top 10 player of all time and was known for his killer instinct which was dubbed as “Mamba Mentality”.
It seemed that Kobe Bryant left quite the legacy, as Lakers superfan, Chris Huerta, credits Kobe Bryant’s ‘#MambaMentality’ for inspiring and motivating him to lose 170 pounds since Kobe’s last game.
According to Huerta’s Twitter account, he began his diet the day Kobe Bryant memorably scored 60 points in his final NBA game on April 13, 2016. As Yahoo pointed out, that’s an average of 10 pounds lost per month. Huerta used Bryant’s “#MambaMentality” to stick with his program, which is clearly working.
Down 170 lbs since @kobebryant 's last game. Took it one day at time with that #MambaMentality. Happy #Ko8be24 !! #KobeWeek #KobeBryant #Ko8e24ِ #LakeShow @Lakers @JeanieBuss @geeter3 @LAIreland @ @ramonashelburne @LakersReporter #bestever pic.twitter.com/FeW0245MjC

I've never been committed to anything. I always quit because I always told myself "I can't do this."
So,here we are 80 weeks later. Looking forward to the new year to set some new goals.
Ive lost 170 pounds thus far, I'm really going to try to make that 180 mark. pic.twitter.com/cz6v5YGKLe

His story has been quite motivational, as his tweet and progress is going viral. Lakers President Jeanie Buss also seemed to have taken notice.
