Do you think baseball is too long and boring to watch? Well, you’re in luck. According to an ESPN report the MLB is trying to speed up the game by implementing two key rules: raising the strike zone and eliminating the four-pitch intentional walk. Both of these rules are designed to improve the pace of play and produce more action in the game. The MLB believes raising the strike zone will result to more balls in play and give the big hitters a better chance of knocking them out the park. Eliminating the four-pitch intentional walk would allow pitchers to directly send a batter to first base without having to throw four wide pitches to the catcher.
If approved, these rules could be effective as soon as the upcoming season. So bored sports fans, let’s keep our fingers crossed.
