By his sophomore year, Steven Adams had a pretty good idea of the level of trash talking at the NBA. He once overheard some of the stuff Kevin Garnett and Kendrick Perkins was saying to Serge Ibaka.
“KG and (Kendrick Perkins), those two are ridiculous,” Adams said of the legendary smack-talkers. “They make you question, like, why you are playing basketball and stuff. You’re like ‘Why am I doing this?’ It’s really weird, you get depressed.”
When the time came and Kevin Garnett targeted Steven Adams, Steven Adams developed quite the plan. He decided to convince Garnett that he couldn’t speak English, which seemed to work as Garnett slowly backed off.
